Cybersecurity and Google’s Lawsuit

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) issued its Fiscal Year 2020 Agency Financial Report. The report describes the agency’s key program performance for FY 2020. It emphasizes on consumer protection in areas of data privacy and cybersecurity.

This comes after a proposed class action filed this week accuses Google of misappropriating Android users’ cellular data allowances to transmit information to and from the company when users aren’t using the devices or Google apps.

The case is: Taylor et al v. Google LLC, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, No. 5:20-cv-07956
